Sloppy joe

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

4-5 servings

 

INGREDIENTS

 

3 tbsp vegetable oil

1 finely chopped onion

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 bell pepper (color of your choice) finely chopped

1 finely chopped zucchini

1 lb (454 g) VEGEAT vegetable chop

2 cups of tomato sauce

1/3 cup ketchup

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 tsp yellow mustard (commercial)

1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp  chili powder

1/2 tsp ground cumin

a pinch of salt and black pepper

 

grilled hamburger buns

grated cheese

sweet pickle slices (optional)
 


STEPS

 

Start by chopping your vegetables finely. Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat with 3 tbsp. vegetable oil. Pour in the vegetables and VEGEAT Ground and cook for ten minutes, breaking up the Ground well with a wooden spoon. After this time, add all the rest of the ingredients, salt and pepper lightly, mix and reduce the heat to low. Simmer 5 minutes before serving on toasted hamburger buns with grated cheese and sweet pickle slices, if desired.
