Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

2 servings

INGREDIENTS

• 1 ½ tbsp margarine

• 2 x 113 g VEGEAT burger cut into bite-sized pieces

• 1 cup of broccoli florets

• 1 red pepper cut into strips

• 2 green onions cut in slices

• sesame seeds, to garnish (optional)

Tao general sauce

• 2/3 cup vegetable broth

• 1 1/2 tbsp soup hoisin sauce

• 1 tbsp ketchup

• 1 tbsp brown sugar

• 1 tsp white wine vinegar

• 1/2 tsp ground ginger

• 1/2 tsp Sriracha sauce

• 2 tsp  cornstarch

• 1 clove garlic minced

STEPS

Start by heating a deep skillet over medium heat and melt the margarine. Cut your 2 VEGEAT burger patties into bite size pieces and cook them for about 10 minutes. At the end of cooking, season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile dice your broccoli, red pepper and green onion into small pieces and make your tao sauce.

Remove the cooked burgers and pour the vegetables into the hot pan and coat them with the remaining margarine. Pour in 1/3 cup water, cover and cook for 3 minutes. Then remove the lid, let the remaining liquid evaporate and salt and pepper slightly to taste. Put the burgers back into in the pan and pour the tao sauce. Bring it back to boil to thicken and immediately remove the pan from the heat. Serve in large bowls with chopped baby spinach and rice.
